Description:
The Center for Distributed Learning (CDL) at UCF is home to Online@UCF. Online@UCF offers seven undergraduate degree completion programs, eight graduate degree programs and twelve graduate certificates, plus hundreds of courses every semester from most academic areas. The mission of the Center is to provide support to students, faculty, and staff in the development and planning of distributed learning courses and programs. The Center serves as a clearinghouse for processes and resources, providing planning and marketing support for off-campus and distributed learning credit programs. The Center also coordinates the university's standards and accreditation changes resulting from Web-based instruction.

The department of Computer Services and Telecommunications (CS&T) provides a central point of support for all aspects of the university's computing, networking, and telecommunications. The department also maintain several public workstation labs located throughout campus as well as a professionally staffed computer store that facilitates the purchase of software or hardware at competitive prices. CS&T provides and supports application/systems development, document imagining services, Web hosting services, e-mail and academic support services as well as Teledata services; including telephone, cable TV and other communication services.

The Office of Instructional Resources (OIR) provides UCF's faculty and staff with multimedia classroom design and support services, multimedia design and production, digital media, video production, audio production, and graphics. OIR also supports videoconferencing, campus cable TV, and interactive video distributed learning networks. Satellite reception and distribution are also available. Additional services include training and production support for multimedia and ITV instruction. Facilities include the Faculty Multimedia Center located in CL1 202.

Description:
Research Initiative for Teaching Effectiveness (RITE) supports UCF faculty members in formulating and implementing research on effective teaching practices in higher education. Services include research design, survey test construction and administration, data analysis and interpretation, results provided in publication quality format, and assistance with presentation at scientific meetings. RITE will also assist in locating an appropriate publication and presentation outlet.

University Libraries offers a variety of information resources and services. Current holdings include 1.8 million books, serials, and other materials including government documents. 3.0 million microforms and 47,000 media titles. The libraries' rapidly growing electronic resources include 400 databases, 197,381 e-books, and 11,500 electronic journals. WebLUIS, the Libraries' web-based catalog, can be accessed from any public or home PC. The main library is open 105 hours per week and offers 220 public PC's, 40 wireless laptops for checkout, and two electronic classrooms. For help and advice in the use of the library and its materials, the Reference Desk is open most library hours. For online assistance go to http://library.ucf.edu/ask/ The Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Services Department http://library.ucf.edu/ill assists students in obtaining materials not owned by the UCF Libraries. Local library branches include the Curriculum Materials Center (CMC) in the College of Education complex, and the Rosen School of Hospitality Management Library, located just off International Drive. Additional library collections are available at the Brevard Community College/UCF Joint-Use Libraries in Cocoa and Palm Bay, the Daytona Beach Community College Joint-Use Library, and the UCF South Lake Joint-Use Library.
