The 2007 Florida Legislature amended Florida Statutes, Section 1009.24, to establish a technology fee beginning with the fall term of the 2009-2010 academic year. The revenue from this fee shall be used to enhance instructional technology resources for students and faculty. If you wish to submit a proposal please refer to the guidelines, complete the proposal form, and submit by the deadline indicated below.
The Technology Fee Committee wishes to call your attention to a change in project scoring criteria adopted by the Committee at its October 15 meeting. One of the proposal rating factors is the total number of students to be served by the project as stated in Section B of the proposal form. The Committee has divided this criterion into two components, each of which will receive half of the original value.
a) the total number of students served by the project, and
b) the percentage of target student population to be served by the project
A target population is those students whom the proposed facility will directly serve (e.g., upgrading a student PC lab that serves half of the undergraduate students in a specific academic department would report that 50% of the undergraduate headcount [number to be provided] in that department will be served.) Units planning to submit Technology Fee Proposals are requested to address both of the above criteria when completing Section B of the proposal submission form, which can be found at http://www.itr.ucf.edu/techfee .
The deadline to submit proposals is October 30th. Each proposal must bear the signature of the appropriate dean, director, or organizational head.
Contact us at techfee@mail.ucf.edu if you have any questions.
Proposals must be submitted by October 30, 2009
